Hee! The curse of the sun and the moon is fake! Are there more long-running vampire jokes? I love the idea of a vampire who perpetuates urban legends like collecting pop can tabs for charity or entire religions.

The men's long hair in the flashbacks is chronically hideous. They should set these things in pre-Revolutionary France, when guys of a certain class all wore wigs.

Elena's aunt's ignorance of the supernatural was getting silly, so this is long overdue. If she's this freaked out now, wait till she finds out Jeremy is a vampire.

One thing I don't like about the show: massive amounts of undramatized exposition.

So the most powerful vampire on earth, and the second-most powerful vampire on earth are running around loose and the Salvatore brothers have a fight over an old rivalry over a girl.

Wonder if Alaric is going to remember any of this?
