WHEN Now!
WHY
( TWC is the journal that transformed my attitude to fanworks. )
TWC bridged my fan and academic interests with an article called "The Epic Love Story of Sam and Dean" by Catherine Tosenberger. I was not the only taker. The editorial in the new issue of TWC notes:
"The next issue of TWC, No. 4, which will appear on March 15, 2010, will be a guest-edited special issue on the popular show Supernatural, which has a huge fan following—as well as more than a few interested academics. Guest editor Catherine Tosenberger published an essay on Supernatural in TWC No. 1 that, at more than 16,000 views, is far and away the most accessed TWC essay, demonstrating not only engagement with the topic, but also wide-ranging academic and fan interest."
16,000 views? Rawk, Catherine!
HOW
...can you contribute to this journal? TWC is accepting submissions for a Summer 2011 special issue on race and ethnicity in fandom, a topic that's been pretty hot lately. You don't have to be an academic to contribute. Just follow these instructions.
