A few quick notes on Star Trek, volume II, number 2



It's the Epic Love Story of Kirk and Spock. A veritable gift to K/S vidders.

All the female roles are underwritten or poorly written. And they missed a chance to reboot one of my favourite characters, Yeoman Rand.

Every time Chris Pine said "Son of a bitch!" I thought of Jensen Ackles saying it, and how he might have been a better Kirk than Pine is, then spent the rest of the film regretting I had that thought.

For the record, Pine is fine (heh). It's just that the calibre and experience of the rest of the cast is that much more.

I loved the Cumbervillian.

I'm still mildly disappointed that he was chosen to play that guy instead of a different character.

He did pretty well with what he had, mind you, and the moment a certain organization's name was invoked earlier on, it explained the visual discrepancy...
