lol, Queen Elizabeth is in Canada and what do we do? Make a geek of her! First, a tour of RIM and a new Blackberry! Then, Pinewood Studios and a 3D movie!

p.s. Shortly after that photo was taken, the Queen was at a function in downtown Toronto, where the power had been knocked out due to a transformer explosion. Yep, show her all the high-tech toys, then turn the lights out on her!

It gets better! The queen's 3D glasses are "studded with Swarovski crystals shaped in the letter Q on their sides" and she was watching a scene that Deepa Metha just shot for a proposed 3D TV series of a Jai Ho dance number set in 1812! Details and video here. (OMG I want to see that show!)

Why does The Blues Brothers come to mind when I see this?

(Also: Wondering if Her Majesty and His Highness ever saw that movie and what their reaction was to the film. We'll likely never know, but it's a fun question to ponder.)
